About Richard Pye
Richard has been in business in Los Angeles working as a custom masonry contractor for
over 25 years. He received his training at Tottenham College of Technology in London, England, where he was selected to serve an apprenticeship with the renowned firm CP Roberts, Inc. As part of his apprenticeship, Richard was awarded both his City & Guilds
with three distinctions as well as his Advanced City & Guilds, also with three
distinctions. He founded his first full service masonry company in London after his
training was complete.
Richard came to Los Angeles in the early 1980’s with dreams of California sun. He loved what he found and decided to stay these many years.
Richard’s first projects were in Malibu, where he gained a reputation for his
comprehensive knowledge of masonry. Today, his firm is widely considered one of the
best full service masonry contractors in the region for its skillful handling of even the
most challenging projects, all with an artful flair. The firm handles all projects, both
large and small. Architectural consultation, masonry problem solving and historical renovation are all part of the masonry services the company provides.
Richard’s artistry, professionalism, technical expertise and insistence on top quality workmanship has helped enable him to build his company into one of the most highly regarded masonry firms in Southern California.
Richard lives with his wife and two children in Santa Monica. He is a well known AYSO
soccer coach, having coached over 50 teams. Richard’s wife, Kelly, has been a longtime education activist in the Santa Monica and Malibu communities and is a past member of
the SMMUSD Board of Education.
